Grafton Fine Arts and Music Festival to award over $3,000 in Prizes and offer free admission
We thank Grafton Suburban Credit Union for their continued support in sponsoring the major prizes. Three prize winners will be determined in each of the following categories: Fiber Art, Graphic Art (pen & ink, pencil, pastels), Oil/Acrylic Painting, Watercolor Painting, Traditional Photography (image captured via film camera and printed from darkroom), Digital Photography (image captured via digital camera and printed from computer), Sculpture and Clay art, Mixed Media/Assemblage. An additional prize category was created for this year’s festival to include Two Dimensional Digital Art (other than photography), such as drawing or painting created using a computer program. Twelve outstanding art pieces will be selected from both the children (age 5-11) and youth (age 12-18) display.
Also, Grafton Land Trust is sponsoring four additional prizes for all submitted artwork: Best Nature Artwork, Best Nature Photo, Best Child’s Nature Artwork (age 5-11), Best Youth Nature Artwork (age 12-18). Prizes in this category are determined by the Land Trust independent judges.
This year Grafton Historical Society joined us as a sponsor of two additional prizes for our young artists: Best child’s drawing or photo of a historic building or artifact (age 5-11) and Best youth’s drawing or photo of a historic building or artifact (age 12-18). These prizes will be determined by the representatives of the Grafton Historical Society.
The children and youth prizes will be awarded on March 23th at 11 a.m. at the start of the festival. The adult winners will be announced at the artist reception and award ceremony on March 23rd at 6 p.m., at the conclusion of the festival. The winner of the People’s Choice Award will be announced at the closing reception as well.
